Hi
I am in need of a new bed and mattress and would like some help if possible - i would like a solid oak bed and a pocket sprung mattress with memory foam on top (and bottom like the Apollo Calypso) - problem is all the ones i like have sprung slatted bases. from what i have read they wont go together very well. Is this the case? if it is can i do anything to get round it ?
Thanks in advance

I usually advise that the gap between slats is no more than one inch for a pocket sprung mattress. However the fact that the Calypso has memory foam on both sides tends to spread the weight out, so you could get away with a maximum gap of up to 2". If the gaps between the slats are more than 2", then you can lay a sheet of peg board over the slats to spread the weight out.0
