Hi, Anyone know anywhere in Belfast that sells Tusker beer. Its expensive to order onlne and was wondering if any off licenses sell it over here. I have only tasted it once, but it was lovely !

Seen it in Tesco off-licence section in Knocknagoney and Connswater, and extremely nice it is too.

Ah memories of Tusker!!! Used to work in a bar/off licence in Antrim 20 years ago and we sold it in the offie. The boss had one of the best range of beers I have ever seen in an off licence. He later sold up and it is now The Stables where I wouldn't frequent unless you paid me!! Thanks for reminding of Tusker!!!

Bigcammy, Are you sure it is Tusker and not Tyskie ? I checked Knocknagoney last week and it did not seem to be there. Rgds, Willyk

Excellent. I will have a look tomorrow. I did email Tesco about 6 months ago suggesting that they stock it. Never got a reply, but maybe they listened.

I too put in a request for this at Tesco's Knocknagoney store three or four months ago. It was when they were stocking it in Carrick but none of their other stores, despite a big publicity campaign in the English tabloids about how they would give 5p to a wildlife charity for every bottle sold.

I heard nothing back but as the other poster said, maybe they did take it on board.

Anyway, you'll definitely be able to get it in The Vineyard on the Ormeau Road (more or less opposite the post office at the end of South Parade).

They get it in regularly and if they don't have it in stock they can definitely order it, as I have got them to do this several times. The down side is that it's about £2.29 a bottle, which is probably about £2 more than you can enjoy it in Kenya for!

Although I like to support local retailers, I have to say that Tesco's economy of scale was a good thing when they were able to stock it for £1.49 a bottle or just £1.19 when they had a promotion for 20% off lagers. Worth checking back at Tesco first I guess, especially if you want a case or more.

Tusker beer at £1.49 a bottle in Tesco Carrick yesterday, I think it was included in the buy 6 bottles get 25% off, so 6 bottles would be about £6.70.

Good man! Now, is it worth the trip to Carrick? Closer than Nairobi and probably a whole lot safer at the moment... actually, only one of those statements is true.:D
