silly question....is this the stuff you see on the old movies that the snort up the nose (and not cocaine of course)

Or is this something that you're meant to use in a pipe or something? I thought snuff was the stuff that goes up nose to clear synus'es (spelling!?) or something, but not so sure now with it containing tobacco

a friend once gave me some snuff i found great for my blocked nose but did not want to go into the local tobaconist to buy some, i guess i felt a bit uneasy!:T :T :T

Modern snuff is white and snorted using a rolled up bank note:rotfl:
