Canon Selphy printer - CP720 or DS810?

Hi everyone,

I wanna get a photo printer and I've seen some good offers in the Canon outlet store on Ebay. One of the printers i'm interested in is the Selphy CP720, and the other is the DS810. I've checked to see whether the ink and paper is available and affordable, and it seems to be but the CP720 is a dye sub printer so it is slightly more expensive to buy the cartridges etc but ok if you biggest size value pack of 180 sheets. It's been good in most reviews I've read too. Some people said the quality is excellent, others not so great.

DS810 seems to be good too, with most of same features, but is an inkjet, so slightly cheaper ink cartridges but not by much it seems.. but has a 2.5 inch monitor which is much bigger than the other Selphy and can print bigger sizes I think.

I'm looking for good quality prints that I can do myself at home, affordable cartridges and stylish product.. size not important. Which do you reckon is best?

Anyone had any experience of either of these models?

I've seen the Epson Picturemate 500 as well, looks very good Is that better? Any opinions?
