Just how good to you ARE credit companies?

I'm looking at the latest balance on my credit card and the minimum repayment is £70... not bad, I can just about afford that, but when the interest is £65 its just not fair :(

I know a lot of people who have a DMP have had their interest frozen on their accounts. How easy is it for someone not in a DMP to do this? I want to clear this debt but only paying off £5 per month is insane. I've had the card/account for 5 years nearly and the only offer I had was 0% for the first 6 months... as a loyal customer should I ask for something?

  • This really depends on who you are with, I ask Barclays and they would't budge. They no longer have my business. I to was a loyal customer (about 18 year or so) but since coming on here things has changed so they will soon be cancelled.
    Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

They might, you could ask. You're probably better off transferring it to a new 0% card though or even better a life of balance offer
No longer using this account for new posts from 2013
  • I cant get another card, thats the problem :(
