I thought I would try my hand at Scrapbooking for the first time. It's for a Mother's Day present for my mum. I will include lots of pictures of her 3 grandsons and 2 great grandsons. My question is what type of glue do I use. Is pritstick ok or do I need something special ?

i used pritstick
but to be honest, i didnt use proper scrapbooks just like sktech books that looked nice
if your using a proper scrapbook what about photo corners, you can get them at whsmiths theyre just like sticky little trianglesYes Your Dukeiness0 -
If the photos are originals I'd be inclined to use the photo corners (think you can get them at most photo/camera shops).
Pritt stick is very good or you could try double sided sticky tape or glue dots for a firm fix.
It sounds like a lovely idea:TMary

It needs to be acid free or the photos will deteriorate. (That goes for the paper and anything else that will touch it if you want it to last.) I THINK pritt stick is acid free but it's worth checking. There are other stick glues that are too though.
I use gluedots. THey are easy to apply and not messy.
Have fun! I LOVE scrapping.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
If you want them to last a very long time then you need acid & lignin free everything - this gets rather expensive though poundland does sell some things you can use.
If they are to last a few decades then pritstick or anything else you can find is fine. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
you can get little sticky dots, or what look like a tip pex roller mouse, but its glue. i use them all the time for card making etc. brilliant-no mess with the pva or prit stick just roll on the back of the bit you want to stick-turn over press down voila!

if you want the scrapbook to last then you need acid free, and lignin free, but also photo safe, alot of glues can actually damage your photos ... creative memories have excellent products, they can be more expensive but will not damage your photos ... how much do your photos mean to you .... and yes it has to be photo safe!!!! ... i mean oil is acid free and lignin free but you wouldnt smear it on your photos would you???? ... lol ... you will probably be able to find a consultant near you as you cant buy it in the shops, look on the creative memories web site. good luck ... i love my scrapbooks!!!! kids do too...sensible eating started 15/12/07

I use double sided tape from the £1 shop for mine. I just want my scrapbooks to be for those around now and not for generations to come, so thats fine for us.
Once you do scrapbooking I bet you get hooked. I've so many papers that I've collected and my parents both love looking through them each time I add another page. Its all the memories that you write down too that make them so personal. Such a lovely idea for a present for you mum.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250
