early repayment figure

hi
to cut a long story short last year i got into a mess financially, which resulted in my tesco loan being defaulted on and passed to the credit management dept of RBS.
i agreed to pay £50p/m towards the remaining £2500, but had been paying £100p/m to clear it quicker.
today i received a BT offer from MBNA of 0% until Feb 09 (i dont usually receive these offers as my credit record is now rubbish) so thought i'd give tesco loans a call to check early settlement figure. the early settlement figure was £1799 , however as i explained i was on mat leave and only getting £400p/m they asked if i had an offer to make them, i said £1400 (random figure), to which they agreed after checking with supervisor etc.
i have until end of mth to pay this and have just arranged for mbna to bt the funds to my current acc for repayment to tesco asap.
the reason i am writing is greed more than anything, as i am now wondering if my offer of £1400 is too high and whether they would have accepted a lower offer, does anyone have any experience of this, as i am now wondering whether to call them back and say i don't have £1400, but have say £1300 avail.
sorry for the rambling.

Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

Very unlikely now damage is done . You need to follow the correct full and final settlement guide lines , template letters are available . Never rely on phone agreements . I believe the CCCS have good guides on this , email them , they will email a guide back to you .0
