Template letter for court

Hi,
I need to draft a letter to the court who have judged that I should pay NR the 5k I owe them immediately. I appreciate there is a form you can fill in but I think I'd have to pay for that. I rang the court and this nice woman said to send a letter in and to ring and ensure they'd received it. I just want to let them know what I can truely afford to pay.

Hi Chipbeck,
Assuming this is an unsecured debt, you normally have 14 days to fill out the CCJ papers and make a formal offer of payment. If you don't make an offer, it's likely that you will get a judgement made on behalf of you by the court (in your case the whole amount).
If it's been less than 14 days since you have received the judgement, you have the opportunity to re-determine the amount by sending a letter as you have mentioned. I don't have a template letter, but all you need to include is a list of income and expenditure as well as any other debts you have, and finally an offer of payment that you can afford. It's then up to the court to decide whether that is a reasonable offer of payment.
If it's been longer than 14 days since you got the judgement then you would need to fill out an N245 form which comes with a fee of £35 to get the re-determination.
Hope this helps
