Risk Free Pension

I am a 53 year old male looking to invest in a risk free pension. At the present time I have money invested in 3 pension schemes (2 Standard Life, 1 originally M & G but seems to change ownership every 6 months) which to my mind at least have underperformed the stockmarket for their 20 year duration. I have developed a somewhat cynical view of Insurance/Pension Companies squandering my hard earned cash over the years so I drafted a standard letter (detailed below) to all the usual suspects - needless to say I have received no positive replies. Could anybody recommend a company/scheme that meets at least some of the requirements.
Dear Sir,
I am looking to invest a lump sum in the region of £5,000-00 to £10,000-00 in a Company Pension scheme at the end of my companies financial year.
My personal stipulations/requirements are:-
1. Money to be invested in a risk free scheme (i.e. not linked to the stockmarket.)
2. I require (if possible) a rate of interest in excess of any Isa on the market.
3. I would prefer not to be pay any joining fees/yearly premiums etc.
4. I would prefer not to be pay any charges for the length of my investment.
Regards,
BILLL3.

Have you checked to see if they are actually invested in the stockmarket fully?I drafted a standard letter (detailed below) to all the usual suspects - needless to say I have received no positive replies.
You are unlikely to get any positive replies as many of the insurers do not accept business directly.
You are also asking for the impossible and being unrealistic. Your criteria would not pay a penny to the pension provider.
There are options which are close but not exact.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Even one not invested in the stockmarket is not risk free - the purchase price of annuities could change; the return on the fund could be less than you can get elsewhere etc.I have worked for 5 years as a Pension Administrator and then a further year in a non-administrator pension role. I am not (and never have been) an adviser. Do not take anything I say as advice, it is information given on the best of my knowledge.0

I'm afraid you will have to change places with Gordon Brown or Tony Blair, or your local MP. They seem to be the only ones who are going to have a nice risk-free pension. The majority of us just have to pay into pension schemes all our working lives, risk them going phut, or having the stockmarket and /or annuity rates conspire against us just as we're about to retire !0
