Credit File....

Hi...
Wondered if someone could offer their expertise!
I have a debt of approx 10k.
5k of which is interest Free!!!!
the other 5k is with egg at 7.88%
i would so love to lower this 7.88% as i am obsessed with fighting the credit industry at the mo.
The problem i have is that i have had about 3 credit searches in last month (various reasons) and i have a relatively low income, also, i have few late payments about 6 months ago,...
just wondering if anyone could recommend me a lower interest place to move my debt to.... i can only afford to pay 100-120 a month off, maybe a bit more at a push, and im a little worried i'd get turned down for credit due to multiple searches and a few minor blips on the file.
Any info MASSIVELY appreciated as IM A DEBT FREE WANNABEEE!!!!

hello well done for posting, u may have damaged your credit rating in the short term if i were you i would wait bout 6 months or so then try again, with this credit crunch its getting harder or some to gte credit.
hope this helps 0 -
7.88% doesn't seem too bad actually - particularly if there are blips on your files. 4 years ago, with an immaculate credit record, I tooko out a loan for £8K at 5.9%. So, at today's rate, with less then perfect credit history, 7.88% may not be too bad.
A group of credit searches at the moment will count against you, but don't be overly concerned that the rate you're paying at the moment is ridiculously high or anything as it really isn't.
I'd love to have a rate as low as that now!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
