 Had this happen numerous times now with different shops and its getting rather annoying. So dont be too dissapointed if youve missed out on reserving as it may have saved you hassle and bother.
I went on Halfords site last night and they had one in stock at my local store which is just a few minutes away. Almost immediately got a text to my phone along with an email giving me the reservation number, which allowed me to pick it up until closing on Saturday. This morning ive had a phone call from the store apologising that i was able to reserve one as they havent actually got any in stock. I wonder who is playing with a nice new Sat Nav.
This happens too often in my opinion. This is the first time for myself at Halfords but have had it happen 2 or 3 times at PCWorld (top spec pc towers), also Comet (Coin sorting machines). Other than Argos, the only place ive had luck with reserving items and they actually have them when you get to the store is Currys. SO well done Currys and buck your ideas up the others.
Btw i found this deal from hotukdeals and if you go and look on there, many others are having the same problem too. I think its only 2 so far that have actually got one, as the others have had a phone call too saying no stock.0 -
none in stock anywhere in uk!0

Just a quick update.
I got a 'phone call from the Crawley branch saying they didn't have any in stock, wasn't very happy but took it on the chin.
Went into my local branch on the off chance (which didn't have any in stock according to to the website) and hey presto - one in stock.
So, it's worth dropping by your local store even if the website says it's out of stock.
Hope it helps someone.

Well I've just had the Navigo delivered from eBuyer for £59.99
Free delivery within 5 days but in fact arrived Wednesday considering I ordered Monday that's good.
The Navigo has MP3 and MP4 player but I'm not too bothered about.
What appealed to me was that it could run TomTom navigation software from an SD card.
This Halfords one includes Major European roads and is £10 cheaper which is an advantage but does anyone know if it can also run TomTom from the SD card?0 -
Update to my earlier post. When i got the phonecall to say they hadnt got any, i explained my dissapointment as it was a present for someone and could he continue to look just in case he come across it. He said he would and that he would give me a call tonight.
Earlier this evening the phone rang and it was the man from Halfords saying he hadnt had any luck in finding the stock and apologised. I then went on to explain to him that my reservation was valid until the end of Saturday and that i knew (from hotukdeals forum) of someone who had also made a resevation but when they went to the store they couldnt find the stock so the person played up and was then offered the next model up (currently on sale too but at £109.99) for just £49.99. I asked if he would be able to do the same for me if i found out which store and the phone number but he said that it was quite a big price drop. I agreed with him but said that if it can be done by one store then surely it could be done by another. The man i was speaking to was the deputy manager as the main manager was off for the weekend, and he said the best he could do would be to offer the £109.99 model for £70. I thanked him buy said i couldnt see why i couldnt have it for the £49.99. He said leave it with me and he would ring the manager at home and see what he could do.
A few minutes later he rang me back and said that he had rang another local store and they had stock (not true as there was no stock within at least a 35 mile radius to me) so someone would be dropping one off to them tonight so that it would be there for me to pick up tomorrow.
I wonder where they really found it. Probably under the counter reserved for a member of staff who would have been taking it home tonight.
Coming on these boards has learnt me a lot about being persistant sometimes and getting a result. This time its payed off. Thanks :T0 -
HELP
One of the stores I just phoned had one in stock, but when I asked them the price they said £119.99 for the LN500.
How can I get it for the £49.99 when I go into the store? Will I need proof or something to get it down to £49.99
Help ASAP please would be greatly appreciated!

£119.99 is the price for the display model. They will have 49.99 as the price of the "stock" model.
I know this because the one I bought in my local store was stickered at 99.99 (it was in the clearance display), but was the display model which they told me was 119.99.
They also told me that it should be 49.99 - they had that price in their system and what they would have to do is move it from display into stock in their system and only then would they be able to sell it to me for the lower price.
It took 3 guys in the Redhill 20 minutes to sort this out, but they did it in the end.
You need to tell the store that it's 49.99 on the website, but you were not able to reserve and collect as it said there was no stock, but clearly there is (assuming there still is).
They should be quite reasonable about it.\
Good luck.
