Mcdonalds bogof or burger and fries for 1.99

not sure if this is covered elsewhere, but i've just gone to mcdonalds for my symbolic 'last' big mac (i find you can put things behind you if you celebrate with a 'last one') and is it me, or are the burgers ever-so-slightly smaller during promotions like this?

has anyone else noticed this? or is my brain playing tricks on me???
