GYM Contracts

I'm not sure if I read about his before, but does anyone know a way of getting out of gym contracts, my present gym will not allow me to cancel until the year is up, is there a way round it? What are my rights?

If you signed their membership agreement, you will have a pig of a job getting out of it. I suspect (though i dont know) that your only real chance would be if you were, for whatever reason, no longer able to use the gym.

Some gyms let you suspend your memberships, ie. if you need a payment break or can`t use it for awhile??

I got out of one when I changed jobs as I was going to be working about 30 miles away so couldn't use it anymore, they cancelled it once I had a letter off my employer. Think there's a similar rule if you move away too.
