Unearthing CCJ details

New poster so apologies if this has been dealt with before.

My girlfriend did a credit check recently and it showed a CCJ of which she has no knowledge of. It is for a small sum and she could easily pay it off.

The question is can anyone tell me how she can find out the details of the judgement ie who it is in favour of (or who she apparently owed money to), so that she can start to rectify this situation.

She has previously applied to Registry Trust Ltd but the details are scant (gives case number and date of judgement and amount owed).

You should be able to get the name of the court and the case number from the details. Once you have these you can ring the court directly and get them to post you details of the CCJ from thier records. With this information, you will get contact details of the other party so you can start to follow things up. This is what I did a couple of years ago. They might not talk to you directly if you were not involved in the CCJ in which case you will have to get your girlfriend to do this.
