Do Pay off Mortgage or not?

I have something just over £3K balance outstanding on my mortgage, (5 yrs left)I am considering paying this off in full :j , BUT, :mad: due to work relocation i am considering buying a second property at my new place of work,maybe later late this year or even the in 2010, question is, is it worth keeping my current mortgage or to pay it off and start afresh with something like the ONE account...
