Hi there, sounds like a disco might go down quite well, low lights and sparkly bits around the place (Christmas decorations?). Take a breather with an ogranised game every now and again. All the old party games would be fun and nearly free - pass the parcel with something little and girlie in each layer - Pin the something on the something (Used to be tail on the donkey but more modern versions are possible using pictures of Bratz or the Simpsons) - Statues and so on.

If you haven't got a Twister game pack, try advertising on Freecycle for one - you may be lucky and get a free one.

Have you got a popcorn maker - making some would keep them occupied.
If you've got a freezer for ice cream get two or three varieties and some smarties, jelly beans, dolly mixtures, syrups and so on and let them loose on an ice cream factory.

    Good luck.:bdaycake:
  • Fab idea for a mini ice cream factory!
  • Don't know if there will be enough time but how about signing up for a free dvd rental? Pick one or two dvd's that your dd and friends will like, make popcorn (few pence of corn popped in a big saucepan, melt some sugar to drizzle over - yummy!)

Movie night with popcorn for a few pence!!

Also pigsback and quidco do cashback for signing up for dvd rental trials. Just return the discs and cancel account before the trial runs out!

  • If your elder DD is good with hair and beauty what about a pamper night, you could between you and your elder DD, paint nails, do hair and makeup and then when all the girls are pampered have the disco and food. Im sure if you have 2 girls then you will have some nail polish and makeup and hair scrunchies etc. so that wouldnt cost anything. Ive got 2 boys so I dream of birthdays like this :rotfl: . instead of football partys and bowling partys. Wudnt be without them though.

Sounds lovely to me what time do you want me round :j . I can bring nibbles.
Im sure your daughter will love her party, why wouldnt she with all her friends round and being pampered sounds like the best birthday ever to me, family, friends and good times. If you have a digital camera you could take some pictures of them before and after and then when you are feeling a bit more flush maybe get them printed out and let her give them to her friends.
My sil did this for her sons friends we all went to see McFly and she gave his friends a little photo album with the pictures that she had took they thought it was mint.

Sounds brilliant! Some of the best memories we have are of home parties. You dont need to spend a fortune to have a great party. Hope it goes well.

If you sign up to www.photobox.co.uk you get free prints - just need to pay for postage - or www.snapfish.co.uk you get free prints which can be collected at your nearest Jessops store so no postage.

For my DD's birthday we bought some poster paints from woolies 'worth it' range (£1 for pack 8) and the girls each chose a colour and we did 'keepsake handprints'. We bought canvases from poundland and they put a handprint on each and signed it when it was dry - so each girl took home a individual picure of all their friends handprints.

You could use card instead of Canvas for a true MSE version :D

Just re-read it - hope it makes sense
