  • Sorry Dunstonh - don't know where you're reply went - you can tell I'm not used to forums - or pensions!!
  • He had a few - can't remember if it was Standard Life or Prudential (although it could be something totally different). Not a lot of help, I know.

    Both Standard Life and Pru pay out full fund value on their retirement annuity contracts.

    Thought you had read it when I saw your reply. I normally type a reply in notepad correct the spelling think about it check if theres been any othe posts that make mine obsolete then post it. In this case I forgot and just posted it instead. sorry.

    full fund value means the value of the pension fund at date of death. i.e. if £280,000k was the value, they would pay out £280,000.

  • Thanks - just glad it wasn't me that did something wrong.
  • The only other thing I can think of then is that it's a pension plan he started, decided it was the wrong one and paid no more into it - so not worth much now.
  • Possibly. but without some documents or the companies name theres nothing yet to look into. See what your mum still has and post here again.
