I have a constant sweet taste in my mouth; as if I'm eating those sour sweets; gets worse when I eat or drink anything (sweet things mainly). Any ideas what could be causing it? Anyone else suffer with the same thing?

This is going to get very close to the 'medical advice' rule.
Go and see a doctor or a dentist.
You say a 'sweet' taste in your mouth, but of those 'sour' sweets?
Do you mean a constant 'sweet' taste or a constant 'sour' taste.
I think a blood test might be in order to see if there are any unusual readings.
Possible iron or zinc deficiancies, or even diabetes - is there any history of this in your family?
Get to a Dr, or dentist. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
It's very sweet almost tarty taste. Seems especially worse if I actually eat anything sugary. It's unpleasant when eating savory foodstuffs due to the sweet after taste.
As for diabetes, not sure if it runs in the family, don't think so.
What could it be teeth related?0 -
I'd get yourself to a Doctor, definately a blood test sounds in order.
My sister (type 2 diabetes) gets Ketoacidosis, which causes a taste like parma violets in her mouth. It's basically when the body doesn't have enough glucose and starts to eat into fat cells for energy - not a major problem but should be checked out quickly to avoid any further problems from it.
Oh - and diabetes doesn't always have to run in the family!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
Go and have a blood test
When you brush your teeth do you brush your tongue as well, does it make a difference when you use a mouth wash0 -
Sorry, we don't allow medical advice on the forum other than to see a doctor.
Kind Regards
