Debt Diary of the Kinky Pixie

  • Hello

First of all well done on trying so hard to get your debts down.

Secondly your boyfriend owes you £3000! That's a lot of money and if he paid you back you would shave a lot of time off you debt free date. He knows now that by making a fuss he can get out of trouble. Exactly how my 4 year old nephew behaves.

Sorry to be harsh but you need to tell him to grow up and take responsibility for his own mistakes instead of palming them off to you. You took on the debt and you have paid all the interest on the money over the years too. He owes you! So just make him pay you back a reasonable amount every month... let's say £100.

And again well done, I hope you get debt free soon.

  • I really hear what you're all saying and I totally agree, but I can't force money out of him, and I just don't know what else to say to him

And just to top things off today, I checked my online banking and my £400 O/D has just disappeared!!! I really hope Natwest can get it sorted, otherwise I am really going to struggle and end up using the CC this month!!!! And that is not good!!

Start looking for another. He has conned you out of £3,000 and you *cannot* have a long-term relationship with a con-man. Relationships are fundamentally built on honesty and trust.

  • Right, well, spoke to Natwest and they are re-establishing my overdraft. I was half tempted to leave it off, but then I would have really been stuffed for the month and well, would have got into a mess.

But, feeling very positive today, thinking of putting some work together to try and sell in one of the galleries in the building where I work, so will put together a bit of a plan at the weekend. If I could make a couple of hundred each month, then I'd be chuffed!!

Also made a saving today by canceling my phone insurance, so that's an extra £59.50 in my pocket and not Vodafone's over the remainder of this year. Woo hoo!!!!

  • Dear kinkypixie,

Well done on starting the road to clear your debts. It is a long and bumpy road, but you will get a lot of help here.

I was renting a flat for 3.5 years and cahnged suppliers twice in that period of time. Do check with your landlord, he/she is a human and will probably allow you to change suppliers. (There is nothing on their part to do about it anyway).

I very much agree with most posters, if you live with your boyfriend and that is a number of years now I believe, and intend to live together later, you need to sort out the finances together.

Also try shopping around for broadband £39 - is expensive. There are inclusive deals out there.

And again, well done on taking the challenge upon.

    I wish you good luck!
  • Well, did my weekly shop last night, and used the remainder of my budget from last week to give me a bit extra. So, spent £22.49, sill 51p spare, which will probably buy milk in the week!!

Went out today and ended up spending £7.57 on craft bits and pieces to try and help me make some money, and so I can make a birthday card and a Valentines card. Then spent £8 on something my mum wanted and couldn't get, but I suppose that doesn't count as I will get that money back next time I see her.

But then went to Tesco, to get 1 thing, £3.88 later!!!!! So, £11.45 spent already!!!! £2.55 remaining for the week.

Searching for potential Ebay items this evening, so I can get them underway, it's a great way to clear the house out:rotfl:

  • Well, the last month has totally flown by and my budget went out the window at around week 3!!!! So have started this month a fresh. My weekly budget is £21.68 and this week have already overspent by £3.93 :shhh:

But I did manage to make a list of what to eat this week, and it looks like my food can stretch further than first expected, which is a bonus.

Oh, and I was expecting to have to pay out for repairs to my windscreen wipers on the car, but fortunately it was just a few loose wires which BF fixed for me :footie:

Need to try and find some things for Ebay this week as the debt reduction has slowed down dramatically, this is not good!!
