I received the info this morn and thought best to pass on so you know what Barclaycard says:


Thank you for contacting me again.

I would like to inform you that The Identity Protection Service is a
free service that provides cardholders with:

1. Access to confidential advice on identity fraud

2. Professional advice to amend their credit file should they become a
victim

3. It does not pay for any loss or costs as a result of identity fraud.


Barclaycard cardholders are covered with this service free of charge,
no application is necessary.

Whereas, Identity Protection Plan is a GI General Insurance product
where the policy holder is able to benefit from two main areas of cover;
Prevention and Resolution. Some of the main features include:

1. Insurance cover up to £50,000, to cover expenses incurred in
clearing their name and restoring their credit status

2. Unlimited online access to their Experian credit report with an
alert feature to inform customers of any changes to their credit report

3. Fraud resolution service, including access to their own personal
case worker

4. Confidential advice line open 08:00 - 20:00, every day of the year

This product is not the free service offered to all cardholders. Ch
need to call on 0844 848 5609 to avail this policy.
