Panasonic TV's sourcing

Options
Sods Law -the end of years sales finish and the TV needs replacing ! Looking for a source of either a Panasonic TX37LZD70 or a TX37PX70 set with stand and a five year guarantee/warranty. Internet sites show cheap prices over stores but by time their 5 year warranty figure is added all price benefit is lost. Any help gratefully accepted. Thanks in advance.

Hi Omega have a look at ...offeroftheday should be able to search on there for best prices. Apparently John Lewis will price match any other 'real' store (not internet) prices and they do 5 year guarantee.

Thanks for the tip but where do I extract this 'offerofhteday' bit please ?
It is the John Lewis match business that I am trying to locate a store that I can use as a price match. Have come up with Empire Direct and they do have stores so maybe I will strike gold there ? Thanks anyway.

Panasonic TH-37PX70B-PED £725 inc vat and delivery from Sound and vision. they have a shop in Farnworth near bolton and John Lewis will price match them.

You already know empire have it for £719.99

I would recomand the PZ over the PX but the 37" doesnt come in a PZ. I picked up the TH50PZ70PED from sound and vision a few weeks ago the image is excelent, far better that I expected. ohh and the price was £50 cheaper in their shop than on their website.

Thanks and will follow up S & V in Bolton. Right now am looking at the TX37 LZD 70 version (£999 at JL and Currys) £795.99 plus their £29.99 membership sub from Empire Direct. £825.98 total - will John Lewis match these people do you think ? Remind me - what is a PZ ? please (am totally confused over a lot of these letters but have figured the digits reflect the screen size and somewhere wall mounting and stand mounting comes into the formula somewhere !)

I read your post wrong sorry, I was talking about plasma screens not LCD.

Panny plasmas have a few different model numbers
    TH,TX/37,42,50,65/PX,PZ 70,700
TH is plasma TX is LCD
the first number is the size in inches
PX or PZ are the range the PX are HD 720p the PZ are HD 1080p
The last 3 letters PED, WAL and CAB
PED is a pedistal stand requires a table or somthing to sit on
WAL is wall mountable, it comes with no stand you need a bracket or a stand that uses the bracket fixings
CAB is a cabinet, it has a stand designed for the screen to sit on usually about £200 more than the other options.

the 70 and 700 replaced the 60 and 600 the 70 is the lower spec I think the main difference is the quality of the audio procesing maybe some in video processing but I prefered the sound on the 70 to the 700 and the fact that it was about a grand cheaper.

anyway the TX37PX70 is a 720p HD screen the LDZ is a full 1080p HD so there will be a big difference in price between those 2. The problem is that the choice of 37" is poor mainly pannasonic offer 37" screens.
