Can anyone enlighten me on what sort of waiting lists there are for these, and if priority is given to "key workers" (I am not one), also have seen some investors offer these but it's generally housing association who would cover the rental part of the agreement?

And are these a good thing (obviously good in the initial sense of having at least a share of a property) or are there pitfalls to it that don't make it a viable long term option?

It is dependant on each individual housing association, so they should be your first port of call. Advantage who offered them as a stand alone product are currently out of the market.

I'm not sure if they are available at all for shrimp boats.
