Transfering property from husband to wife

in Cutting tax
We have a holiday cottage which we also let out. It is currently in my husbands name, and we now want the this transferred to my name so that the income is in my name.
Do we have to do a formal conveyance through the solicitor to do this, or will a formal declaration suffice saying eg from 1 March this year the property belongs to Mrs JuneBow.
Alternatively is a declaration of trust necessary.
Any comments appreciated
TIA
