Address history for credit check

Just wondering if anyone knows how long of an address history you need to give when applying for a mortgage. I know its usually 3 for most stuff, but is it possibly 6 for a mortgage? My Mum's address history about 5 years ago was a bit of a muddle for various reasons, so it would be a bit of a nightmare matching her with the voters role etc from this time, so I expect she would fail the credit check if it was a 6 year address history (and we're trying to get her to move out of our little flat ;) , its just a bit too small for three people and a dog!).

Many thanks in advance ladies and gents!

  • 3 years min some lenders ask 6 years but very rare unless something comes up on your file! I would go with 3 years!

A few lenders decline if not on voters but only a few and not on the high street. If she is not on voters they may ask for proof of address.
