Quick Response Needed

Hi All moneysavers

I as you may or may not know am buying a house, FTB, Mortgage agreed in principle, House offer accepted, solicitors sorting out there legal jargon as we speak.

I am still waiting for my final mortgage offer, even though verbally they have said it is coming, pending I presume the survey.

I want to open a A&L Bank account to take advantage of there offer, so me & my Girlfriend should be able to claim £125 or £150 for free, which will be fantastic for the new house.

Question is, will the searches affect my credit rating? I have only just got a new credit card this week, I am a bit worried that combined with the mortgage, & a new Bank account a flag may be raised which could jeopordise the mortgage.

Any Advice???

I doubt very much that this type of search would jeopordise your mortgage, as it is not that you are applying for a credit facility as such (apart from an overdraft possibly). Therefore, even though it could be seen, I doubt the lender would be alarmed.

My clients have done this throughout the years but it never caused a problem.

However, it would be worthwile to run it by your Lender and they could confirm this.

I know that Lenders can do a new search at the time that the offer is authorised.

could i contact my lender direct??

I have so far gone through a IFA
  • I can't see any reason why you can't contact them directly after all it's them who are providing you with the money not the IFA...

I take it you got a better deal through the IFA than you did by going direct or did you not a get a choice?
