Knitted Wedding Favours

Hello Everyone

Has anyone ever made anything like this before?

I'm thinking perhaps little white lacey patterned heart shaped pockets for some sweets or some soap or something like that to go into?

Thanks

  • That sounds lovely, do you have a pattern?
Other ideas could be little dolly type bags with sugared almonds or maybe a couple of coasters tied together with ribbon to match your flowers.

I would start by going to Borders and Browsing the knitting and wedding sections, I was in there yesterday and amazed at how many knitting books there are.

The little crocheted 'doilie mats' (like the ones from dressing table sets) would be pretty joined together with the tops left open.

I have an old pattern that was designed as a large placemat with a small coaster (but also suitable for a large mat with 2 small ones for a dressing table set). I've made it up loads of times using some very hard, stringy, nylon yarn that came in pretty pastel shades that was absolutely no use at all for anything else.

    Hi Georgiabay

No unfortunately I don't have a pattern - I do have one of these little bags but it was made by someone who crochets in Portugal and I can't crochet!

I thought if I could knit something it would be really nice.

Olliebeak, that's a nice idea, I might take a look for a pattern for those dollie mates!

    Thanks

If you google ‘knitted gift bag’ there are loads of results – here are a few I found -

    HTH ;)

Edited to say, would be nice to use a glittery wool or even something that matches the dress/flower colours? Change the size by using smaller needles, thinner yarn.
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D
