Norwich Union (Aviva) windfall

Options
Just been reading http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7206841.stm and wondered if anyone had any more news on this or thoughts as to whether/when policy holders are likely to receive a windfall? - I could do with quick pay-out to help pay for my summer holiday :p

All up to date information can be found here assuming your policy is eligible
  • Once again Aviva have stalled and now u turned on its agreement and is going to renegotiate the windfall payments. Unfortunately,my opinion of this company, who advocate " honesty and tranparency, has not changed, and due to past experiences I will not hold my breath waiting for the promised pay out. Their policy, in my opinion, is neither honest or transparent and I have the belief, due to my problems with Aviva/Norwich Union over the years, that liars and cheats would be an apt description.

    Evidence for that please?

The agreement was that the payout could be recalculated if the FTSE fell below 5000. Its currently 4155. So, they have acted within the agreement.

The big problem was the failure to not have the payout set as a percentage of the value but paid as a fixed amount. If the value of the assets has dropped 30% then it is common sense that the payout was going to be put back to the drawing board. Whereas a percentage agreement would have allowed them to pay it regardless of the value of the assets.
