How do you work that out?

If you are paid an hourly rate you get paid for the hours you work. If you are paid a weekly rate you still get a weeks pay for working five days. It just means the following week starts a day later than normal, but you still get paid for each 5 days you work.

If you get paid a yearly salary which is divided by 12 then you may work an extra day this year. But it depends when the year ends. Also, when you are on a monthly salary you don't mind leap days as you are used to working 30 & 31 day months anyway. You get paid the same whether there are 31 or 28 days in the month.

But they could argue that they get a day less in other years ... Should we offer to pay a day back?!!

They can also argue that for the other 11 months of the year you work a 30 OR 31 day month so in actual fact you are already winning from a 28 day month because if you are on an annual salary then you earn the same as any other month.

Id keep your mouth shut because next year they might wanna pay you less in the month of feb - from their point of view why should you get the same salary on a shorter month?

It works both ways im afraid
