my partners new house was wrongly repossesed

Options
I was just wondering whether anyone could advise us on our next step...2 weeks ago my partner receive a repossesion notice on his newly purchased property, after a phone call to the halifax we found that although our money was going in to the correct account every month they had been trying for 6 months to take the payments out of an unknown account and therefore having no success they then sent the written notices 3 in total to a completely different address (unknown to us or them), therefore the first we hear is a repossesion notice on the door step....unbelievable I know....the situation now is that they have back tracked and with their tail between their legs they have rectified all of our deails and sent us all past paper work and cancelled the court summons and charges.....as all is now in order and they have apoplogised I am wondering whether o leave it or pursue it, does this sort of thing happen a lot? is it just a big inconvenience that we just have to forgive and forget....?

Are you financially worse off? No. So there is nothing financially you can aim for. So what are you going to pursue?

I don't see any reason to pursue anything.

..... other than online Banking. In order you could actually see the slightly unbelievable fact that the account was better off to the tune of 6 months Mtge payments?

They should be ensuring that their credit record is corrected!

  • Bet you can get a few quid out of them, it costs them to stand up for them selves so a small amount may be paid if your lucky.

So did you not notice that the dosh was building up in your account ??????

Same thing happened with my car insurance - they then noticed the error and whipped 3 months of payments out at once. I didnt notice coz the amount was only £40 a month..... but if 6 months mortgage payments hadnt been taken i would have noticed..

So, the house wasn't wrongly repossessed then?
