Buying Tesco's car insurance

Just quote a quote from Tesco for Ford Fiesta over 2 yrs old at £264.60, seems very competitive but would like to know a bit more about the cover which is supposed to be comprehensive. Anybody cares to explain to me what I really should be looking when buying insurance. I have the £50 cash back? I am wondering whether the quote is £264+ - £50 and that really makes it competiive at £214. Does anybody know if their call centre is in India? I did ring Customer Service, the person has an indian accent and was not very helpful.

Need to buy insurance as it is running out next week, but not very keen to buy online as I do not understand what it is included in the policy. Would be grateful for advice. Many thanks.

As long as you fill out the form with giving all the correct details (be careful not to make any mistakes as this could invalidate ur insurance) you should be fine,

I just renewed my insurance with tesco and saved a small fortune,

anyway you recieve your policy a day or 2 later and youve got time to go through and check everything incase you want to cancel.

Thanks for your advice. Just phoned to ask for a quote and was asked when the car was built. I said, it must be in 2003 as the car reg. is 2003, told me to check log book which I did and could not find oout when the car was built. She said she could not proceed with a quote unless she gets this infor. Any idea where I could find out when the car was built? Thanks again.

on the V5 there should have a first registration date... try quote online.

and you will get 50 quid off buying before 15th july... hmmmm the code is TESCO3066... there is another personalised number they may ask. the best bet is do it online i suppose! or if you are doing your weekly shopping in Tesco then spend 25+ and you will get the voucher!

I have been with Tesco for Car Insurance for 5 years. Just got my renewal form through at the same time as I was changing cars. Rang them up and they out my premium up slightly to £308 from £286, this didnt bother me until the person on the other end of the phone was really shirty when I asked if they would price match if I received a better quotation. Had a look on the internet and The AA came back with a quote of £230 which is over £70 less. Needless to say I have switched insurers.

PS That quote is fully comp with Protected NCD
