My breadmaker is wonderful!

He's called David, and is also great for warming my toes on at night! :p

Serious question though - are breadmakers worth having if you're confident at making it by hand? I know people who swear by them, but they didn't make bread previously.

    Hi ShockingPink,

I think if you are confident at making bread by hand then it's probably not worth spending the money on a machine. I got a breadmaker over a year ago but lately have found I'm making more and more by hand as we prefer the taste and texture.

There's an older thread where you can find more opinions:

    Is a breadmaker worth it?

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep all the replies together.

  • I have made bread by hand and with my breadmaker and enjoy both but I have to say that my breadmaker is a godsend now that I have two pre-schoolers. It is easier by far to just put the ingredients in and then take out the finished loaf. Once the kids are at school I will have more time but until then I will use the breadmaker.

I must add though that making bread by hand doesn't take much time at all...it just takes less with my breadmaker...it all helps make my life easier. :D
