In our store they are with the homewear stuff.

There were lots of other things... extension leads, car mats, drills etc - cant remember the prices but they were all reduced to clear.

Hope you find some bargains -

They had some large toolboxes reduced to 4.99 :)
  • I would be very cautious of a set of spanners costing just 29p. The last thing you want to do is put any force on such a tool only for it to snap and instantly that force is transferred to movement leaving to take the skin off your hand as it rushes past something rough.

The pain and suffering caused by low quality tools (and how can anything costing 29p be anything but?) is not a worthwhile trade off for spending a few pounds and getting something half decent.

Been there, done it and I carry the scars.

They were not this price to begin with - they have been reduced to clear them.

Obviously they need the space so have reduced them to rock bottom just to get rid.

Sainsbury's are not renown for selling high quality spanners. I would heed what Odd Fellow says. Spanners need to be Chrome Vanadium to be worthwhile. You may get away with drop forged for small jobs but they are not any where near as strong as Chrome vanadium. Stubborn or rusted nuts and bolts will just bend and possibly break the jaws of cheapo spanners and your hand/wrist will take the full force that you are applying. Not very nice.

Spanners really are one of those items where you need quality. If you can get price as well so much the better. Lidl often have sets of spanners for less that £3 that are high quality chrome vanadium and are usually made in Germany, not China!! A much better buy, IMO.
