Sorry Lesley I didnt adjust my draft. Thanks for pointing that out.
My clothing is mainly 2nd hand now which is why its so cheap! except kids shoes!!!!!!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
We set up a policy with a financial advisor from one of the high street banks. I explained that we were both bankrupt, and we were concerned that if anything happened to the pair of us, the two children still at home didn't have any security. I'm not sure whether the nominee has to be a certain age, but you could always do the same with a trusted friend or relative. We did it the two eldest childrens' names, and quite bizarrely the youngest two were "put out" that they'd have to ask their elder siblings for funding, if we disappeared off the face of the earth;  quite tempting at times.
I would still put the higher amount for clothing; you need to be working to a realistic budget, and you can't always guarantee that something 2nd hand will be available when you need it.

 Hi dalip,
It's nothing to worry about; as a concerned parent you recognised it needed doing but you haven't had the chance to get it done.
It's defintely not something you'd get into trouble for even if the O.R didn't allow it.
