I bought some rump steak about 2 days ago and forgot to put it in the freezer:rolleyes: when i took it out today it had gone brown! is it still ok to eat? the sell by date is 29th and eat before is 30th. tia

it should be fine... meat quite often goes dark when under the lights of the cabinets in the supermarkets anyway...and well hung meat is dark anyway... so i would use it -no problem...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I would smell it first, if it smells o.k then certainly eat it. it's in date and I think the going brown bit is quite natural. I have certainly had steak go a bit brown and it has always been fine.
I think where meat is concerned you can trust your nose.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0 -
yep.. the browning is perfectly normal as the blood drains from the meat... absolutely fine.. enjoy!
