• Hi Merlot,

I work for Vodafone in the Forum Intervention Team. We’re a team of people who search internet forums to help out any of our customers who may be seeking help or advice, this may be by providing information, answering questions or when needed getting them to email us so that we can look at their account.

If you’d like further clarification that I’m an official member of staff for Vodafone UK, you can use Vodafone’s online contact us form here, if you include the code FIT135 in the body of the email it will direct it through to my team, we can then reply to your email as proof that we’re Vodafone UK.

I hope this clears up your query.

    Thanks

Many thanks for that clarification, however I thought you needed the permission of those at MSE towers as you do not state in your signature that you work for Vodafone. I have reported the post to MSE, but only to ask if you do need permission.

hopefullyuseful1, according to the above, post 18, you do need to seek permisson from those at MSE before you post. Can I ask you to adhere to the rules of the forum.

Copied and pasted below for you:

MSE TEAM PERMISSION: CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS

Company representatives are actively encouraged to post on the forum to provide good customer service to MoneySavers. They should not be using the opportunity to tout for business. We need to know in order to legitimise it. Where permission has been given for a company/person to specifically post there will be a note from the MSE Team. If someone has posted claiming to have been given permission but this has not been followed by a MSE team note please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

  • Hi and thanks for your reply! I think this problem is much the same to what banks charge for going overdrawn to be honest! How can you charge 2.49per Mb? This is totaly rubbish. Id like to take this to court, i will find out my chances first because i feel like this is a con, vodafone shouldnt allow people to use this service at this price.

Also why did i NEVER receive any paperwork from vodafone after they cut me off? why never a reminder to pay? why never a warning letter to pay etc? I dont get the way this has worked! i had to call up myself to find out these reasons. Im still not happy about this debt at all, and if i do have to pay it, it will be £1 a week 652 weeks :) so in 12 years you will have all your money you have stolen from me.

I was a loyal customer to vodafone for over 5 years, if you had of come to some kind of arrangement and not cut me of after 1/2 a day i would have considered paying you, but now NO way.

Did you ever call them in the months after you got the bill to ask what was happening?

  • James,

I understand that you think £2.49 per MB is expensive however this doesn't mean that the charges are incorrect.

You mention in the original post that you moved house around the time of this happening and I think that we may have your old address hence the reason you haven’t received any correspondence form ourselves or Wescot.

The reason you would of been cut of during a day would of been to either stop any further charges from building up or because you bill hadn’t been paid.

You will be able to discuss payment arrangements with Wescot, I would recommend that you pay of the debt as quick as you can as this would mean that the default on your credit file can be updated to show the debt as satisfied and will reflect better on your credit file.

  • My old address is my mothers, so i would have received any lettters! I already have a black mark or whatever you call it on my credit because of this, Im not in a position to pay £652 at the moment, im only just about affording my rent at the moment.

I personally dont think this debt is fair, I think im going to contact somebody about legal aid on this matter, And if im in the wrong then i will have to pay 10/month or something along these lines i already have far too many direct debits to be happy with.

We received a letter yesterday from morehouse? Saying i need to contact them all the usual bailifs rubbish & court action, As i cannot pay in full i guess it needs to go to court anyway?

Im not the type of person to make peoples like hard at all :money: but in this case i will make my payment to vodafone as LONG & as hard as posible, Im quite sure they should of sent me a letter reminding me to pay? they should of warned me against non payment but none of this,

Im sure i have a case against vodafone & if not i will have to pay slowly as above
  • So hopefullyuseful does that mean you dont think 2.49/mb is expensive? I think vodafone should block this service TOTALLY. I can see why a few people are coming up with thousands of pounds worth of debts with you because of this! I always rated vodafone highly before this, After im disgusted with your customer service, We could of came to a deal over a year ago & the debt would be sorted.

I personally dont think this debt is fair,

Why? Are you stupid or something? The charges for mobile data are clearly displayed. The fact you chose not to bother to go look at them is your problem.

The bill is fair. Completely fair. They charged a set price per unit for a service, you used that service. You were billed for it and it's payable.

Whilst the data charges are expensive, that doesn't make them wrong or alter the fact you owe that money.

Next you'll be complaining about the price for Rolls Royces being unfair because you can buy a Ford Ka for 1/15th the price.
