    a hotel car park?

if you're worried, park in Alderley Edge and take the train.

what kind of car do you have? how old?
  • Hi unrich

Car is quite new - I'll checkout train times from Alderley Edge.

    Thanks

I'm half kidding about the Alderley Edge thing. There are several nice towns on the railway in from Cheshire.

I'm sure the days will be fine but the nights are your problems. Hotels will have undercover / guarded parking.

The other alternative would be at the airport. There are so many cars there that yours is unlikely to stand out also there will be lots more security.

    Cheers
  • Yea you're right about not leaving the car in an open space overnight.
    Could be asking for trouble.

I'll check out hotel parking first.

    Thanks

  • There is a NCP car park on Whitworth Street next to Bridgewater House, less than a minute from Oxford Road Stn, it's manned and pretty safe (I live opp). Am not sure how much it would cost you though, how cheap is cheap?

I would offer my other spare space next to mine for free, underground, but the concierge have got strict on policy on allowing unknown cars.
  • Hi

Thanks for the information. I've just checked the price and it would be either £23.50 or £29.00

    I'd prefer £10 - £15 if possible.

    Daily tariffs
    2 Hours £ 5.00
    2 To 4 Hours £ 6.70
    4 To 6 Hours £ 7.80
    6 To 9 Hours £ 9.00
    9 To 24 Hours £ 14.50
    Night Rate 1800-0800 £ 6.00

One of the days is a Sunday - are there any all day Sunday parking carparks nearby? This might possibly reduce the cost.

    Parking in Manchester is expensive.
There are a few options but if you plan parking and leaveing it fo rthe whole weekend then your best in a hotel car park, if your happy to keep moveing it from a carpark to the street parking for the nights you could save as some carparks have a rate for 12 hours from 8 am till 8pm then street parking is usually free from 6pm.

I usually use the carparks near victoria station if I'm spending the day in manchester. But I wouldnt leave my car on them over night. the advantage of parking round there is the tram stops there so you can get to most of the city on the metro link.

Another option would be to park outside of manchester near one of the train stations. Farnworth is a good option, lots of unrestricted street parking round the station and only 2 or 3 stops from victoria station, kearsley, salford cresent where you change to go to victoria well I used to Im not sure if it is still the case.
  • Hi Little John

Thanks for the advice. One of the hassles is I'll be carrying a couple large bags.

Does anyone know about this car park. Is it safe to leave a car overnight?
