Printing cards

I've searched and can't find an answer, sorry if it's out there!

I am wanting to print some cards on my printer, but am wondering if people could advise the best quality method of laying out the picture and printing on the inside if I need to....

I am starting at the beginners level as the last card I printed wasn't very good :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thank you

  • Aw don't be sad, I can't bear it!

Have you seen those programmes you can buy? They have a lot of them in PC world, Cardmaker deluxe etc. They are very good for helping you with layouts. Unless you have microsoft publisher or similar and just need templates? Don't spend a load you can buy a package with blank cards in and you get a simple programme enclosed. Try PC world or WHsmith.

Not much help but you were sooooo sad :D

If it's just the printing part that's a problem what you need to do is.... :D

Try printing the design on plain paper first, preferably on draft mode so as not to waste too much ink. See which part of the design comes out of the printer first and then use that as a guide to work out where the writing goes on the inside.

It is a technical problem and I've puzzled over it many a time, but plain paper trials should (hopefully!) help.

Hi Murtle - I'd love to help if I can.

I'm no expert, although I do print cards for a living. :rotfl:
How does that work? LOL - Must give all the 'techno' credit to my husband. xxx

Basically I have one 'original' template for A5 and one for A6 and I use them for everything - including the inserts. I just trim the inserts to fit inside.

Do you have Microsoft Publisher? If you do I could perhaps send you a template.

If not, what size are the cards that you would like to print?

I didn't expect to get anything done today - and so far I haven't been disappointed.

This site lets you print a complete card..............not sure if its what you're after but it'll give you an idea of layout maybe.
    Good luck
