Hi
I'm looking for a new TV as mine is kaput! Think it's time to upgrade to an LCD, and the nearest I can find to what I thik might be decent is a Samsung for £249.00:

But, the speaker quality seems to me pretty poor 6w in total - is this common for LCD's?
Has anyone seen anything that looks good for under £200?

I have bought a LCD Screen for my PC which also serves as a TV. Might not be good alone but with my PC its working very well.

Price £211
Hope this helps. It can run as a TV alone0 -
Thanks Nomee: I had no idea that there were manufacturers making PC/TV monitors! It would even reduce the space I need for my PC as I could use it via the 'TV' with a cordless keyboard and mouse.
And it lots cheaper than the TV's too. It's scandalous!0 -
If you want to replace your monitor and tv buy a tv with monitor input not a monitor with tv tuner built in.0

Hi Little John and thanks for the post. I think what I was surprised about was that I can buy a monitor with a TV tuner built in, with the same tecchy spec as the OP, but a bigger screen for cheaper!0

The reason behind the cost difference is that its a monitor with the cheapest possible tuner added on. TV's usually have a decent tuner and image processing when it comes to the digital side of things. for an example go to a shop and have a look at ame of the sony bravia and panasonic TV's they usually all show he same image in shops then look at the cheaper end tv's and you will see the difference in picture quality.0

Ahhh, thanks. I will take a look see in the shops.0

I'm looking for this size telly too; the shops that seem to have them cheapish are Tesco and Richer Sounds; most reviewers seem to concentrate on the bigger ones so it is hard to know what is good. Anyone recommend a model this size?0

too, there is no cheap tuners in site here the picture is second to none - using it as a pc monitor and as a tv.
Check this one out with HD and 22" AND freeview if you want to spend a bit more:money::money:
