Which Challenges to Join??

I'm normally quite good at saving up money, I do however have debt (i blame my husband lol)........a large renovation project on my house coming up very soon indeed (which there is money laid past for but i know i will need more)......a holiday to Florida early 2009 that i need to save spendies for......and i'm always thinking about saving for Christmas even though its January. I am also starting to buy stock for my business (my husband informed me a few days ago that i shouldn't be buying stock atm even though i have already started and the website is well underway grrr......all he can think about atm is holidays )

Anyways I have been looking at peoples signatures and see that there is a million and one challenges going on. I want to join in but i don't know which ones to do. So i thought if you guys tell me which ones you do, why and how you're getting on, which are your fave etc...it might spur me on a bit more as i am feeling a bit overwhelmed.

So far after stopping smoking the end of 2006 any £2 coins i had and 50ps went into a sealed tin (must update signature). The kids helped empty them last week and we converted the money into dollars for the holiday..... so far we have $598 :)
Oooh and i converted my shop & scan and consumer pulse points and got £110 of Argos vouchers this week :j Great for crimbo
Nicotine Free as of 17th December 06 :j

Hi - I found one of the best challenges when tackling my debt was the Grocery Challenge on the Old Style board. Set a target and each month try to reduce (and stay withint!) the target.

You might find the Sealed Pot Challenge good.

I'm doing the live on £4,000 for a year challenge - with only £3,800! I'm doing it because after my mortgage, water and Council Tax I only have £3,800 so it is (hopefully!) going to keep from going too mad over 2008.

im sure theres a couple of christmas challenges going on which you could join in with.
I do the grocery challenge (on the OS board) which is really useful and then I do my own thing with petrol alongside the groceries.

you could also do your challenge. either set a challenge and ask others to join in with you, or start a diary and keep track of it in there. so you could have a holiday challenge for e.g.

if you can afford renovations and a aholiday to florida maybe you should cut back on these luxuries to pay towards some debt. cant be that hard up if you can afford these.
