ICM Direct

hello, has anyone heard of ICM Direct? Apparently they called and didn't leave a message on answer machine. It's a research company, but not sure how they got my telephone number, I belong to several survey sites so maybe through that route.

Are they one to avoid?

Ive just googled this and it stands for either garage in Reading, and another is a data collection/survey company.. think the latter is more likely to call you.. unless youre in Reading?

Thanks for looking. I am sure it's a survey company, but not sure where it got my info from, i.e. does it have sister companies such as tns, etc. As no-one has mentioned it on here before I am wondering whether it is a bit dodgy.

Seems I have scared them away anyway, as last time somebody called from there, I couldn't find the phone anywhere, and just shouted on speaker phone (which is really naff and you can't hear a thing) to ring back later as I couldn't it. I don't know what he said - because I couldn't hear him, but he hasn't phoned again, (most probably after being shouted at by some mad person!)

I've just googled ICM and stumbled onto this forum.

This morning I received a cheque for £50 from them although I'm not sure why. I take part in many online surveys, but this is a company name that I do not recognise unless they trade under various others.....

I will bank the cheque ASAP I think !!!:j

I just googled ICM research, it mentions a NewVista panel on their website. I then googled NewVista and it brought up this website, more familiar?

This is a genuine survey company, I've been dealing with them for quite a while now, oh and I've just received £50 cheque from them today.

ICM is the legal name for the company behind survey site ItsYourView, very reputable and one of the best paying survey sites around.

Just had a call from these guys.

My number is on TPS, ex-cirectory etc and never given out yet they got through to me.

They use a "random number dialler". I thought these were banned in the UK and Europe?
