Hi everyone,

I was flicking through the paper and saw an ad for a crosscut shredder with bin for £9.99 at Lidl which seemed like an extremely good deal. The special started yesterday so there might be a few left at your local stores. I had a MrShredder from Robert Dyas which was utter rubbish and cost the same price. Its been gathering dust since.

Also at the store they were selling food sealers with vacuum for £9.99. These are like the expensive items you see on the shopping channel that will shrink wrap your food by sucking out the air and seal at the same time. Its a brilliant device for the kitchen and anything else you'd want to reseal.

thanks to OP, got mine yesterday, (only 3 left at 9.30am) and i am well pleased with it.

It is very heavy duty for a domestic shredder and for £10 + the 3 year warranty you cant go wrong.

Went to a few different Lidl's stores today but no shredders left. I could really do with a cross cut shredder asap - any suggestions which would be next best choice??

Saw some £10 shredders in Hoebase today, not sure what theyre like, didnt look too closely

Cross-cut shredders are available all over the place, Tesco, ASDA, W H Smith, Staples, Office World all spring to mind

Thing is they cost about twenty quid in Tesco, and we like to pay about half that

Went to my local Woolies (Chelmsford) at lunchtime. The only ones they had were half price at £14.99 - crosscut with credit card facility. Still looks like a good buy now that the Lidl ones have gone.
