Somebody elses problem this but it's becoming a problem for me.
A debt collection company called 'Credit Solutions' are pestering me with phone calls, both personal and recorded, requesting a NAMED person to talk to them. The NAMED person does not and never has lived at my address and I have no idea who he is.
Credit Solutions have been told over and over again to stop calling my number but they persist.
On one occassion a lady at Credit Solutions gave us the the name of the estate where this guy lives (which is very small and just a couple of miles from where I live).
We now have (from Credit Solutions):-
The identity (full first and last names) of the person they are after.
His credit reference.
His partial address (to the nearest 20 houses).
Thats what I call personal security. And still the calls are coming.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems with these people? if so how did you get them out of your life. How did they get your phone number?

Is this person's name in anyway similar to anyonbe currently living at your house? Are the debt collerctors aware your address is at least 2 miles from where they believe this person lives?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
-
The name is nothing like anyone living at this property.
Credit Solutions are aware that the said address is 2 miles away, I have told them.
I have not had a reply to my email to Credit Solutions and still the phone calls are coming. I had one 30 minutes ago. What part of "I don't know him" do these people not understand?0 -
Report them as nuisance phone calls to your phone service provider."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Thanks maninthestreet, I'll look into that. I have asked 'Investors in People' and The 'Credit Services Association' why they allow companies that harrass innocent people to be members of thier organisation. Investors in People and harrassment of innocent people is a contradiction is it not?
btw the calls are still coming and Credit Solutions are still ignoring my email0 -
Have you tried the ICO to?

Just if this company is giving out personal information that isn't relevant to you they're obviously being a bit relaxed with their views on the Data Protection Act.0 -
i used to get a phonecall from a company asking if i knew of someone living in this road, i assume his phone number was ex directory, yet they had an address that was in the same road as me, i told them that i thought it was a cheek theyre asking me for details they already have, and its not my problem if they cant get hold of that particular person, it gets right on my wick. Id suggest calling bt, or whoever your phone provider is and try getting them barred from calling you, the trouble with these companies is i think they take it as the same person not to call you again, rather than that company altogether, failing that just put the phone down by the telly, if theyre that insistent to keep calling, then just annoy them back with somethng just as useless lol x0

I had a call minutes after posting that last message, not from Credit Solutions but from a family member who has been able to identified the NAMED person and his address and other personal details AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE PERSONAL INFORMATION that Credit Solutions betrayed him to me.
I won't be forwarding this information to Credit Solutions, its personal and its none of my business, their clients pay them to do that and.
Incidentally I have never given my own name and address to Credit Solutions in case they were scammers who are trying to add more personal identity information about myself to the landline number they already have. A wise decision on my part I think.0 -
Thanks folk, two replies came in while I was typing up the last message. Some of the calls are voice-mail (which I group in the same category). I actually know the SAID persons son, just imagine what distress I could cause their family now if I was that way inclined.0

Hello again folks. So far so good, I haven't had a call since 18:00hrs on 30th Jan. Mind you that was a change in tactic, it was from a mobile phone, unsolicited, out of office hours, and the female live caller hung up herself seconds after asking to talk to the SAID person and she didn't even wait for an answer.
I still haven't had a reply from Credit Solutions to my email but as long as they stop harrassing me and stop giving me personal details about someone I have no business with the matter should go away.
Thanks for your help

Well hello again folks
I was hounded by a credit company looking for a person with whom I have no association and managed to get rid of the knobs after posting on here (see above thread) and sending them a link to the forum.
Now, nearly two years on the phone calls have resumed, this time claiming to be Barclays Bank. I have told them that the person they are looking for has nothing to do with me. I have instructed them to stop harrassing me and my family but the phone calls keep coming.
Any ideas folks? should I do something on youtube that involves bare buttocks and two fingers or are they too dim to connect with it?
Should I trust my investment with Barclays Bank when they can't even identify who they are giving out personal details too? Nah, thats too risky on my part.
I think its time to play games with them. Do you think it would be wrong of me to impersonate the guy they are after and bring this to a head in the law courts when they summons me? I can't see any other way just now because they just will not leave me alone.0
