contact lenses online - from Tesco

Just got an email flyer from Tesco that they are now selling contact lenses online. 90 pairs of Focus Dailies are £57, which compares favourably to Specsavers online, and for a limited time you get triple Clubcard points on your first order. Cannily they don't say on the website when this triple clubcard offer expires...

Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.

Hi, someone else posted the Tesco contact lens deal a few days ago (Monday?) and I decided to try them as it is cheaper than Specsavers and I thought the club card points looked good. I also posted a reply on this site saying one of the good things was Tesco got your prescription from your optician for you, saving you the hassle of phoning up your optician and asking for the prescription.
Well, I placed my order on Monday and today I got a phone call from Tesco saying they couldn't process the order because when they phoned Specsavers to get my prescription the phone was engaged!Because of this they cancelled the order and said I had to phone Specsavers and tell the I will let Tesco have the prescription and reorder. As I told the man on the phone, one of the things I liked about Tesco was the fact they got your prescription and saved you that possibly awkward phonecall. I also suggested that if they got an engaged signal they should try again but they said they were too busy!
I don't think this is good service and i am in two minds what to do next, because I know from this site there are other cheaper but good contact lens providers out there. However, I might place my order again at Tesco and not phone Specsavers and see what happens next - maybe I'm wrong, but maybe Tesco don't want to deal with Specsavers and want me to do it.
I'd like to know how anyone else has got on with this offer.

Lensway supply contact lenses without you having to prove that you have a subscription. You just tick the box on the order form that says "I confirm I have a valid prescription". I've used them many times, quick delivery and good prices.

are there any others with a shorter delivery time (and no prescription checking)? e.g next day delivery?
thankyou0 -

I use ww.yourlenses.com, although they are based in Sweden I have always received lenses next working day with no duty to pay & they offer the best prices I can find online for my type (J & J Weekley disposables), they do not require a copy of yoru prescription.
I would like to use Tesco for the clubcard points but I stongly object to them insisting on contacting my optican, I can provide them with a copy of my prescription if they require & am not willing to grant them access to my optical records, therefore they won't supply me! I shall be sticking with other suppliers until they drag themseves into the 21st century I'm afraid.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
