How to remove hair dye for hairline ect..

  • I dye my hair at home and ALWAYS end up with tips of ears, neckline etc covered in dye, and I use a baby wipe, rubbing over the skin in small circles to take it off. Might take a couple of wipes but always works. If I was you though, I'd either pop into the salon to show the stains or phone them - it's not just a pain in the butt for you - someone obviously needs re-trained in there!! You would be fully justified in asking for money back, and remind them of the old addage that a happy customer will tell friends, but an unhappy customer will tell all, including all of us on MSE!!!
    skint but in luv :kisses2:

Not sure it's a brilliant idea complaining after all. My OH has just reminded me that I have built up a good freindship at the hairdressers and it would be a shame to potentially loose it.

I'll try all the removing ideas.

Instead of complaining.....why don't you phone and ask for advice.
Say you've had more defined staining than usual and how does she recommend you remove it. This way you make her aware of a problem but don't directly say its her fault(as in your upset)?

This is the best stain remover. been used for years in hairdressers.
Fag ash and a drop of shampoo acts as a mild adbrashive to remove the stain
    sounds bad but will work

Yeah, I agree with Shegha - Fag Ash and Shampoo
.........I've often had this technique used on me in a hairdressers immediately after they've coloured my hair, sounds bad but if you do it (or get someone else to rub it over the affected areas) just before you wash your hair then it won't feel like such an appalling idea and the face, neck, ear tint should disappear like magic........Good Luck! :D

P.S You never know your hairdresser may have formerly used this strategy in their salon and since the smoking ban maybe don't have such easy access to ash anymore?!!
If this solution really repulses you?!! I noticed superdrug sell singular wipes for this purpose, not sure what they are inpregnated with but have tried them, they do work, you'll usually find them above the hair dyes.

This happened to me many years ago at a salon I had been going to for ages. They let a trainee put the colour on my hair and my skin was really stained. I was suspicious that this particular girl was doing the job as on my previous visit, she was not even trusted to answer the phone!

Anyway, my husband got it off with surgical spirit. Nice - not. I then voted with my feet and never went back to that salon. They lost a very good customer.
