I defrosted what I thought were two steaks, to have with potato wedges and baked beans.
It is braising steak!!
So I can;t do it as steaks or it will be tough won't it?
What else can I do with it?
I have tinned toms, mushrooms, peppers, leeks, brocolli, onions, potatoes and the usual herbs, spices and cupboard stuff.
Any ideas?

a casserole would be your best bet, but this is best when cooked on a low for several hours, could you have something else tonight (chippy?) and do a nice casserole for tomorrow.

If this were me and I was this close to mealtime.I'd cover the steak in clingfilm and bash the living daylights out of it with the rolling pin until it is really nice and thin and then slice it into thin strips.Fry some onion slices with a couple of cloves of garlic, and some chopped mushrooms until nice and soft and then add the meat and flash fry.Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and a squeeze of tomato puree, heat till it boils and then serve with the potato wedges.Leave the baked beans for tomorrows lunch
