Question re CCA / DCA's

Hi
Just a quick question. I keep on at DH to do a letter requesting his CCA as the account was passed to a DCA about 2 years ago. However he is concerned that by doing this it will 'aggrevate' the DCA who will then demand that he up his monthly payments and unfreeze the interest should they be able to provide the so said CCA.
Anybody had any experience with this kinda thing? Also is it worth doing if DH is and has continued to make monthly payments anyway, ie: acknowledging the debt?
Thanks in advance!

Hi
The CCA has nothing to do with acknowledgement of the debt. It is to do with the DCA proving that they actually have the legal right to collect the debt. Why would you pay money to a company that does not have the right to collect it?
I have never heard of a DCA being aggravated by a CCA request. Those that have the paperwork supply it and that is that. He has to pay. If they were to prove funny, then there are OFT Guideleines that state that they are not allowed to request more than he can afford anyway.
In a good many cases, they cannot prove the right to collect the debt and the account is closed.
Have a look at stapeley's threads or a long drawn out one by kurjam if you want to see how it works. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
