Took Martin's advice re Credit Card

Hi just wanted to share a small success with you.
I have a RBS card that is coming to the end of it's 0%
I moved a capital One card in December & Egg didn't give me enough credit limit to clear all of it, so I ended up having to get a mint card too!! so a month on I really didn't want to apply for another card, to move the RBS balance to, so taking Martin's advice I called Lloyds TSB, where I have an empty (emergency card ) & asked them for a 0% balance transfer, they offered me 5.9 for life, which I didn't want, so i said no it's ok can I just close it, I don't use it & I really was looking for a 0% for 12 months. He put me through to the dept to close the card & they gave me 3 options
1. same 5.9 for life
2. 0% for 9 mths 3% balance transfer fee
3. 0% for 6 months but NO TRANSFER FEE
So although not for a long length of time have opted with number 3 as hopefully will be able to clear all or most of it in that time, if not will move, but won't have applied for credit for 5 months or so, so will have a better chance of being accepted for another card.
I hate applying for new cards as it makes me so nervous that I won't be accepted, so this is great. I was extremely confident with them, & didn't give them a hint of that fact though:T
Hope this helps someone
