Anyone help with defrosting a trout

Hi there
I am a complete novice with fish, I don't actually eat fish myself but have a prepared trout given to me which I wanted to cook for my hubbie tonight (he loves fish). It was given to me frozen, I took it out of the freezer this morning but it is still pretty damn frozen at 4.20pm, what is the safest way to help it on its way a bit - I've got about and hour and a half before I need to start cooking it. I've just tried running it under the tap but I don't have a mixer tap so its either a boiling hot tap or freezing cold tap!
Thanks for any help
Mel

Hi mel,
you could try putting it in a bowl of cold water, this is what I do sometimes, you may be able to do it in the micro, but I am not sure, someone wise will be along in a moment to let you know

Put it in a bowl of cold water, it should defrost pretty quickly. I would only do fish in the microwave if I was just about to cook it as it will start to cook on defrost (it does in mine anyway)0
