National Insurance contributions

Options
Last year I was made redundant and had to draw my personal pension but I now have the chance to work part time and my question is will I pay NI contributions irrespective of how much money I earn (I'm not paying it on my pension which I understand is correct) as it will only be about £45 per week?

I am told by the revenue that tax on the part time job will be kept separate from my pension (which is where my tax allowance is set against) and the code on the part time income will be BR i.e. all income taxed but they couldn't advise me on the NI issue.

Any info. gratefully received.
