Giving Food to the Homeless for Free - Discussion

Hi

First off, apologies if this is in the wrong place - I just wanted to find out what you people think about something - if the moderators feel this discussion is inappropriate, please delete this post and accept my apologies.

Well, let me get to the point - what do you folks think about the act of giving food to the homeless etc? Or using some of the freebies you get but turns out you don't want - and giving them to some homeless people?

The reason I ask is purely cos I was inspired by this video:

I'm not going to put my neck on the line to say whether I agree or disagree with the methods used - I just got emasculated on the forum the other day for posting what folks thought was a false link to a freebie - until you got told by others that it was in fact genuine.

Anyways - what do you think - using your computer skills etc to get freebies for homeless people - or even neighbours you know who could use something extra.

For example, I know of a couple who live nearby - they're nice people but unfortunately not very well off. They're expecting a baby and I was pondering going on to the aptamil site and ordering some freebies for them etc - you know, something like a random act of kindness. I know they wouldn't do it themselves, cos they haven't got a computer.

Basically, what I'm talking about are ARKs - Acts of Random Kindness. (and before anyone says anything, I'm a poor student myself - just that I have some spare time on my hands. If I had some extra money of my own, I'd definitely be going out to the shops to buy them something for the baby)

I'm always up for helping someone out if I can. It's not an obligation, I just don't have any reason not to help someone.

Not wanting to put a dampner on things- but unfortunately, this is in the wrong forum and would be more suited to the discussion forum than here, as this is the forum for links to freebies.
I have contacted the MODS and asked them to move the thread to the correct place

I frequently give free product vouchers to my local food bank. This food bank feeds people in the community and the more things they have, the more people they can help.

I think giving is a personal choice. It's not right or wrong. Anyhow, just my thoughts.

i think this is a reat idea to help this people, but what anoys me is i heard on the news today that 21 millions pounds which has come from the lottery has gone in to restoring the mary rose to me thats a total waste of money with that money they could help millions of homless people, this country does nothing to help these people sorry for the rant.
